Calendar Art

Have a look at our fabulous Artworks inspired by Canadian Artist, Ted Harrison.  We searched for motivation for creating outdoor scenes to reflect our local environment.
The sun plays such and important role in our weather patterns and we tried to incorporate light and water into our pictures.  We chose a variety of bright colours using crayon and dye or highlighters to create our artworks.

Hopefully you have been in to view them down the new corridor from Mt Hutt Room.
You can order calendars or cards or diaries made from our artwork.

Kite Making Technology Challenge

Don't forget we are making kites on Friday 20th September...

We are making kites so that we have a fun activity to enjoy at school on a windy day.

We rang Hammer Hardware and found out that it could be quite expensive to buy all of the materials we need, so we would please like some donations of the following:

We need:
  • ·      Dowling or bamboo
  • ·      Wire
  • ·      String
  • ·      Strong Plastic

Please send any of the above items to school by Friday if you can help.
(Thanks if you have already sent bits and pieces along)

Wild, wet windy night in Methven

Today we walked around Methven to investigate the damage caused by last night's storm.  We saw many trees down and branches and other debris lying around.  There was a lamp post fallen outside the brown pub and we found a roof missing tiles, a shed door blown in and signs that had been broken or blown around.  At school the gate blew off Mr Rusbatch's fence and blew into the sick bay window, smashing the glass.  A heat pump had been blown off its footings and two trees had been completely uprooted.  What a mess! Here are some of the pictures we took on our iPads during our walk.
